Retouch4me, a developer of AI-powered photo and video editing software, has launched Dust OFX, a new plugin for DaVinci Resolve that uses neural networks to automatically remove dust and small particles from video footage. Retouch4me Dust OFX is available for $349 USD (perpetual license with free updates)
The tool is designed for commercial and stock videographers, product filmmakers, unboxing content creators, and tech reviewers who spend hours manually removing dust and artifacts from their shots. Dust OFX performs this task automatically with a single click, saving time and effort.
The Dust neural network was trained from scratch on professionally retouched photos. Thousands of calculations and experiments have achieved high-end retouching quality while preserving surface textures. Unlike built-in video editor tools that require manual corrections, Dust OFX processes footage fully automatically —detecting particles, tracking them across frames, and removing them without blurring surrounding areas, with no manual touch-ups needed.
The plugin supports video up to 4K resolution and is compatible with DaVinci Resolve 18 and later on Windows and macOS. It also works in other video editors that support OFX plugins. Dust OFX is particularly effective for macro and close-up shots and complements other Retouch4me products, ensuring flawless video quality.
“After releasing our photo dust removal plugin, Retouch4me Dust, many videographers requested a similar solution for video, especially for macro product shots,” said Oleg Sharonov, founder of Retouch4me. “Dust OFX meets this demand and also excels at removing dust and small particles from dark clothing.”
In other Retouche4me news, the company has added culling to its AI-based retouching app Retouch4me Arams. The functoin flags closed eyes, blur, bad expressions automatically. Then professionally retouches and exports in one app.
